Feta At The Movies
Sometimes, you never know why relationships die;
Why a friend you shared everything with
devolves to an estranged acquaintance
or why a lover leaves,
crumbles your heart like feta.
You honestly wish you didn't care,
but you do.
You lie awake at night searching the movie reel in your head
for the half-smile, the forced laugh, the hesitant hug or touch,
that hadn't seemed off then, but does now,
to define the exact moment when the end began.
Then maybe you can fix it
and resuscitate the past.
